Spring is just around the corner!
We have IT workshops, French Conversation classes, Write a novel in 6 weeks course, Writers critique group and our own Lee Hub Book Group, all started in February. In March we have a new Pilates group starting classes on a Monday 6 pm to 7.30pm and on Thursday mornings 10.30 to 12.00 and French Conversation classes for children being offered.
Our weekly Over 60s Lunch and social is growing in strength, call in lee hub to sign up. Our monthly Vets “Buns and Banter” is proving to be very popular, with over 25 people attending in February.
Our family activities continue with Bounce and Rhyme every Monday at 9.30 am for 0 to 2 year olds, Stories and Rhymes, Fridays at 9.30 am for 2 to 5 year olds and our Saturday Clubs for any Primary School Aged children 10am to 2 pm. All Free ..no need to book in advance!
Dates for your Diary
On Saturday 2nd April we will be holding a Library Open Day at Lee Hub. We will have a coffee morning and afternoon tea, serving homemade cakes and cream teas. There will be activities for the children, tours of the library, talks from visiting authors, book sales and much more! Please save the date in your diary. Our Interpretation Board sited in our Library Garden will be officially unveiled, by representatives of Margaret Dingle’s Family. Margaret was the first librarian at Lee Library. The board gives a brief history of our building and information on Margaret’s work in our library.
Saturday 2nd July will be our Summer Gala day, with representatives from our community organizations on hand to explain what they can offer. There will be activities for children, cream teas, a Grand Raffle and if the weather is kind to us a chance to sit out in our lovely gardens. Our kitchen at Lee Hub has been refurbished and modernized, thanks to support from Gosport Community Action, Lee Business Association and Montserrat Events fundraising and our local Hampshire County Councilor Graham Burgess’ generous offer of some of his devolved funds.
We will be able to offer a wider menu in our Community Café and have improved catering facilities for our lettings and events. Special thanks to Howden’s Kitchens Charitable giving fund, Carpet Fayre, Gosport and Trevor Reed’s Bathrooms for the excellent work they have done refurbishing our kitchen.
Please drop in on any Saturday 10 am to 2pm for a cupper, a chat, raffle, stalls selling great craftwork or bargains. We will be holding an Easter raffle on Saturday 9th April, with lots of lovely Easter themed gifts.
Our trustees and volunteers are working hard to provide “something for everyone” at Lee Hub. If you have a particular interest and would like to start or join a group please let us know and we will do what we can to fulfill your request.
