Letter from the Chair

How quickly February has come around this year! At Lee Hub our 9 trustees and 35 volunteers have been busy sorting out our program of activities, courses, and events for Spring.

If you have made a new year’s resolution to try something different this year perhaps, we can help with one of our activities or courses.

We have IT workshops, French Conversation classes, Write a novel in 6 weeks course, Writers critique group and our own Book Group, all starting in February.

Full details of our Spring program can be found on our website, or call in to Lee Hub and have a chat with one of our friendly volunteers for more information and booking facilities.

On Saturday 2nd April we will be holding an Open Day at Lee Hub. We will have a coffee morning and afternoon tea, serving homemade cakes and cream teas. There will be activities for the children, tours of the library, talks from visiting authors, book sales and much more ! Please save the date in your diary.

Saturday 2nd July will be our Summer Gala day, with representatives from our community organizations on hand to explain what they can offer. There will be activities for children, cream teas, a Grand Raffle and if the weather is kind to us a chance to sit out in our lovely gardens. If you would like your organization to be represented please contact:

Our kitchen at Lee Hub has been refurbished and modernized, thanks to support from Gosport Community Action, Lee Business Association and Montserrat Events fundraising and our local Hampshire County Councilor Graham Burgess’ generous offer of some of his devolved funds. We will be able to offer a wider menu in our community Café and have improved catering facilities for our lettings and events.

We have listened to feedback from our Tabletop Sales hirers and customers, and we are trying something new! We are offering the opportunity for our community to hire a table on a Saturday to sell Bric -a -Brac, Nearly New Babies and toddlers clothing, toys and equipment and Home-Made Bakes and preserves. Our usual vendors will also be on hand, we hope this varied Saturday event will attract new visitors to lee Hub and help support our local community.

For more details contact:

Our family activities continue in 2022, with Bounce and Rhyme every Monday at 9.30 am for 0 to 2 year olds, Stories and Rhymes, Fridays at 9.30 am for 2 to 5 year olds and our Saturday Clubs for any Primary School Aged children 10am to 2 pm.

We have been successful in obtaining a grant from Gosport Community Action for an over 60s Lunch and Social Club. Further details to follow! Please register your interest at Lee Hub and we will be in touch very soon.

Our trustees and volunteers are working hard to provide “something for everyone” at Lee Hub. If you have a particular interest and would like to start or join a group please let us know and we will do what we can to fulfill your request.
